Equine Ethology Annual Show - this weekend

Formerly more commonly known as the Parelli training method Equine Ethology are hosting their annual show this weekend. For those interested in finding out about different training methods it should be a good day out.

'Foundation to Performance'

The Annual Equine Ethology Show features expert horse behaviourists from the USA, Linda and Pat Parelli, together with the UK's Dave Stuart and Charlotte Dennis.
There will also be a lecture/demonstration by leading dressage rider/trainer Ferdi Eilberg.

This year, with more trade stands and feature demonstations by Equine Touch and others - your last chance to see Pat and Linda Parelli in Europe!!!

TTouch demonstration

As an equine therapist I think it is very important to be aware of other complementary therapies, and find out about their benefits and how they can assist your own practise. I have read a number of books about Ttouch and am very much looking forward to seeing the Ttouch demonstration on the 8th October at Solihull Riding Club.
Linda Tellington-Jones, the originator of the Ttouch & Tteam techniques will be there alongside Robyn Hood and Sarah Fisher. They are going to be using both dogs and horses.
If you are interested in attending tickets are £20 in advance and £25 on the door. The demonstration begins at 7pm.

Natural Horse People

If you are interested in learning about Natural Horsemanship and want to meet like minded people the Natural Horse People is a must site to visit. It's packed full of information on everything from going barefoot to nutrition and everything between. All the people are really freindly and helpful as well.

Equine Shiatsu at EMW

I am visiting Equine Market Watch sanctuary at Bromyard on Monday 19th September. Elaine welcomes visitors so if you wish to come and observe please get in touch. We have had some marvellous results working with Shiatsu on the horses that have come in to EMW.

Beau responded especially well, it has improved his condition both physically and emotionally. When I first saw him he was very hesitant about human touch and was stiff and tense in his muscles. A few days after his first Shiatsu the difference in him was noticeable, he began to be more relaxed in himself and accepting of touch his body. He is absolutely beautiful and a stunning mover.

Rowanoak Learning Centre has started their own range of Natural Animal Care Products. They range from Equine Shampoo to Joint and Muscle Oil for Dogs and Cats. The range is all completely natural and has been created for Rowanoak by Kate Scott of Natural Solutions. All the products are available by Mail Order.

Blenheim results

An enormous well done to Zara Phillips and team GB for winning individual and team gold medals. Fantastic result for British eventing!

Britain lead at Blenheim

After what proved to be an extremely challenging day for horses and riders the British Team are leading at the Blenheim 3 day event after the cross country phase.
Zara Phillips is also in Gold medal position. Good luck to the British team for the showjumping tomorrow!

Blenheim European 3 day event championships

Well it's the European 3 day event championships at Blenheim palace this weekend. Good luck to the British competitors. The cross country is being shown on BBC Interactive on Saturday and there are highlights on Sunday at 3pm on BBC2.

The news so far is good halfway through the first day and the top 5 riders are all British being headed up by Oliver Townend riding Topping with a dressage score of 45.2.

I've never been to one of Monty Robert's demonstrations, so am planning on going to the Rodbaston clinic as it is so close to me.

Gallop Magazine

Appearing in this months Gallop Magazine is an article by Sue Eaton from Derbyshire about the benefits of Shiatsu. Sue is very experienced around horses and completed the same course as myself at the School of Equine Shiatsu so I am looking forward to the article and would recommend it for anyone wanting to find out a bit more about Shiatsu for horses.

SCOPE

Well I thoroughly enjoyed my day out at Scope the other day. I managed to keep my wallet safely in my pocket although the shops were very tempting.

Well I haven't posted for a few days but the good news is Amber is feeling alot better. Although not out of the woods yet she is back out in the medical field enjoying some sunshine, this has made her day at least!
